Four Mosman and Manly firefighters will soon be exchanging their uniforms for a range of menswear fashion to help raise funds for The Leukaemia Foundation of NSW.

Firefighters Duncan Podmore, Cameron Richardson, Doug Fisk and Daryn Hyde will model the latest menswear fashion in the Mosman Is Shopping Week Fashion Parade to be held at Mosman Cache Shopping Centre on Thursday 8 September from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

Firefighter Podmore said the firemen, who had never modelled before, were talked into participating in the fashion parade because of the opportunity to raise money for Leukaemia research.

“The idea is a bit scary but I’m sure it will be quite a lot of fun as well,” said Firefighter Podmore.

“We are hoping for a good turnout to the parade so that as many guests as possible will buy the Leukaemia Foundation raffle tickets on sale.

“Whilst we will have a dress rehearsal before the big night, it is still going to be quite daunting.

“I don’t think we would go through his amount of terror if it wasn’t for a good cause,” he said.

The Mosman Is Shopping Week Fashion Parade tickets are $20 and the Leukaemia Foundation raffle tickets are $5 each or three for $10. Both can be purchased from the following participating fashion retailers: Blue Illusion; Classic Spirit; D’Essence Boutique; Design Mosman; George; Hayman; Henri-Lloyd; John Cavill; Just Jeans; Lighthouse; Lin & Barrett Lingerie; Monica Monkhouse Maternity; Oz resort; Perri Cutten; Rodney Clark; Savoir Faire Fashion Accessories; Shebu; Sista Life; Spazio Boutique; Time Clothing Mosman; Victoria Cooper and Vreelands.

All profits will be donated to the Leukaemia Foundation of NSW.
