Brian McInerney - Venice Boys 1978
Famous Faces, Fascinating Places reveals for the first time in a public art gallery, the extraordinary work of Brian McInerney, one of Australia’s most accomplished photographers.
Brian began working as a photographer for the publicity department at ATN7 in the late 60s when he captured visiting celebrities during Australian television’s golden age.
His work in both Australia and Britain features images of the glamorous and the famous, including Audrey Hepburn, John Lennon, Dusty Springfield, Mick Jagger, Nelson Mandela, Spike Milligan and Barry Humphries.
In addition, his photo documentary work for Unicef and ABC Radio and Television reveals compelling social studies of the day, while his architectural images capture unique and fascinating glimpses of our urban environment.
Mosman Council and Mosman Art Gallery gratefully acknowledges the generous sponsorship of Nikon and the valuable contributions of Epson, Amarisco and Digital Masters for this exhibition.
