Enjoy the colour and spectacle of the street paraders showcasing Mosman’s performing arts talent, sporting prowess and vitality of our community groups and government agencies.

Amateur dancers, singers, actors and musicians from our local schools will join the amazing HMAS Penguin Band in entertaining spectators, as well as hundreds of local sportspeople showing Mosman’s love of sport including tennis, rugby, soccer, Aussie Rules football, croquet, swimming, sailing, cricket and lawn bowls.

There will be an impressive collection of vintage cars to chauffer some dignatories and a special appearance by May Gibbs’ Nutcote characters. You’ll get of the Mosman Musical Society’s Jesus Christ Superstar plus the army, police, SES and Mosman Fire Service to add to the festivities.

Road Closures and Traffic & Transport Arrangements, from 7.00am – 12.00pm

The Parade will take one hour from 10.00am – 11.00am with participants marching from Centenary Circle, along Military Road to Spit Junction, turning left through Mosman Square and finishing at Allan Border Oval.

To ensure maximum safety for all participants and spectators, Police and the RTA have advised a full road closure and clearways. Consequently there will be temporary road closures and traffic arrangements from 7.00am-12.00pm.

Please refer to the map above for road closures on Sunday 17 September 2006 and please note the following traffic arrangements:

  • Both sides of Military Road from Spit Road to Bradley’s Head Road will be a special event clearway from 7.00am – 12.00pm. If any vehicles are parked on Military Road at this time they will be towed away. This section of Military Road will remain a tow away zone until 12.00pm.
  • Military Road will be closed to all traffic from Spit Road to Bradley’s Head Road from 9.30am-12.00pm.
  • In order to marshall Parade participants, Prince Albert Street from Centenary Circle to Queens Street will be closed from 9.00am-12.00pm. Access to this section of Prince Albert Street will be restricted to Emergency Vehicles only. Residents are advised not to park within the proposed closed section. Anyone requiring access to parked vehicles during the road closure is advised to move their vehicles out of Prince Albert Street before 9am. It should be noted, residents and businesses will not be permitted to enter or leave this section of Prince Albert Street between 9.00am and 12.00pm.
  • Various side streets adjoining Military Road will be restricted to residents only. Residents may be required to show proof of residence to enter and leave these streets. A list of the streets and areas affected will be available on this website in the coming weeks.
  • It should be noted, that NSW Police Officers will be manning numerous road closures and minor amendments to the above closures could ensue based on officer’s discretion.
Diversion Routes for Sydney Buses

The State Transit Authority (Sydney Buses) has made necessary arrangements to minimise service disruptions. Contact the Public Transport Infoline on 131500.
