Seasoned journalist, presenter, linguist and world traveller, Joanna Savill will host the Mosman Festival Food Fair on Sunday 17 September.
Ms Savill describes herself as a ‘food traveller’ with a particular passion for ‘world food’.
As author of the best-selling SBS Eating Guide to eating out and shopping in fifty different nationalities, and co-creator/presenter of the acclaimed TV series, The Food Lovers’ Guide to Australia, Joanna has become an authority on Australia’s cultural, and culinary, diversity.
Mosman Mayor, Councillor Denise Wilton said Council was delighted to have Ms Savill as host for the inaugural Food Fair owing to her extensive experience with the food industry.
“Ms Savill is also an ambassador for “real food” – working with chefs and home cooks, growers and producers across the country to highlight the incredible energy on the Australian food landscape, from the fine-dining establishments of our capital cities and way beyond.
“Since the mid 1990s Joanna has been a regular feature writer with the Sydney Morning Herald’s Good Living food section – mostly on a “multicultural” theme.
“Ms Savill grew up in Mosman, was educated at Queenwood and her mother still lives here so she is the perfect choice to host our inaugural Food Fair as part of the nine day Festival celebrations.”
The Mosman Festival Food Fair will take place on Sunday 17 September from 10-4pm in the grounds of Mosman High School.
